They trusted us and shared their homestay experience in Bordeaux

Lissandru, Sweden

Bordeaux is a city that has it all, old and new. It is different from any other city I have seen in France and the people are also very nice in Bordeaux. It is not to big so you feel like you really get to know the city and make it your own. For anyone who enjoys sight seeing, history, visiting beautifull places, making short trips, Bordeaux is perfect!

The family is very friendly, welcoming and nice. They make you feel at home and you can always rely on them. It was a wonderfull experience.

I had a great time with my family in Bordeaux and will keep this contact forever!

I appreciated how open my host family has been and how ready available Sophie Dord was throughout the whole process. She was always there to help.

My experience with Bordeaux Expat Services in Bordeaux has been a great learning experience and one that has impacted my decision to stay in Bordeaux. My experience was highly influenced by my host family, who were there to help me with any problem I had.

The first month in a new place can be scary but Bordeaux is an amazing city with many opportunities to meet new people! There are many international students in Bordeaux. You are not alone! It is very easy to find and make connections with other foreigners in Bordeaux through events that can be found online.

If you are thinking about taking a year abroad, Bordeaux is the place to do it.

Bordeaux offers a mixture of true french culture and diversity, making it the perfect experience!

Bordeaux is a lovely city and has lots to offer.

Public transports are very easy to use thanks to the application, also the public bikes are very useful. In the center you can reach everything within 30 minutes.

The part where I lived, at Vieux Bordeaux, I felt very safe. In Bordeaux you get the feeling and experience of being in a large city, but without the crowd and rush of, for example, Paris.

My host, Marie, was very welcoming and loves people. She will do anything to comfort you and is interested in what you do. You won’t have to worry about anything from her, you are free to go and to do what you want.

Put yourself open for conversation and everything will work out just fine.

My stay in Bordeaux was amazing.

The French family you have is great. Do not be afraid to join in.

They will invite you to watch movies with them, do it.

This will be a great way to get to know the family and work on your French.

Bordeaux is full of such amazing sights and new foods to try.

Take your time here to explore. You will discover something that you love in Bordeaux for sure.

It may be a cute little café that you visit every day or a quaint little restaurant that will make the best food you have ever tasted.

It could even just be a spot with the perfect view of the city.

All I suggest you do is go out and explore! Stop at the tourist information and find a list of places to visit, go out and see them and then take all those little side streets, that is where the gems hide.

Bordeaux won’t disappoint you and living with a family is enthusiastic!

I had an amazing experience staying with my host family in Bordeaux, I felt like I was really able to integrate into the French culture and also meet some great people.

My host family was very welcoming, they invited me to share meals and go on outings with them which were always a lot of fun. They were always happy to help me with anything I needed such as recommendations for restaurants, lending me travel guides, and helping me set up a bank account. I loved being a part of the family!

You will meet lots of nice French people ; I’m sure you will have a great time!

My host family in Bordeaux is truly wonderful and welcoming.

From the start they will do their upmost to integrate you and treat you as a valued member of their household.

Don’t be afraid to ask for anything from them (help, advice etc) as they will always do their best to help you.

A lovely family to stay with.

Bordeaux is a fabulous city to live in, so, if you have the chance to come and explore this wonderful place, lucky you!

I recently spent 7 months here working as a language assistant in a local school, and it was one of the best experience of my life.

Living in Bordeaux was great – there is so much to do and see here, you can never be bored!

Staying with a host family was also really nice, as I got to fully experience French culture, meet new people, and practice my French!

I would definitely recommend Homestay Bordeaux with Expat Agency Bordeaux, and the city of Bordeaux, to anyone thinking of working or studying abroad.

My advice? Be brave, make the move, and have a great time!

My advice for a good homestay in Bordeaux :

Be part of the family and talk a lot. They are super fun and awesome to be around. C. is also an amazing cook!

Bordeaux is the most amazing city in all of France. The people are super kind and the food is incredible. The weather is mostly excellent and spending time walking in vieux lyon or chilling by the Quai are my favorite things to do.

Bordeaux was the perfect fit for me.

My French family was everything I could have hoped for.

I came to Bordeaux to study in an exchange program for one year and I wanted to have as much independency as possible. This family was perfect, because they have a son who is also a student and he was in a situation similar to mine. That is to say the family understood very well my situation and what I wanted. Their home is also perfectly situated so it’s very easy to get around.

Everyone in this family has been very helpful and kind.

I have been able to practice my French with them which has been great.

I’ve had a really good time living with this family!
